Greetings my friends,

I was preparing for a devotional I share one day a week, and I came upon a prayer for the Ephesians in Ephesians 3:14-21.  It is a beautiful prayer to pray over someone. I had a Christian customer in Bubba’s one time and I asked  if there was anything I could pray for him , and he gave me part of this scripture.  I was reminded there is nothing better than to pray the Word over our brothers and sisters in Christ and for non-believers in our families, friend groups and neighborhoods.

One of my favorite verses for non-believers is to pray 2 Corinthians 4:4:  “The god who rules this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers.  They cannot see the light, which is the good news about our glorious Christ, who shows what God is like.”  Pray that their eyes would not be blinded by the worlds philosophies or logic to keep them from knowing Christ. That God would take the blinders of any kind off their eyes.

Another verse is Hosea 10:12:  “Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to see the LORD until he comes to rain righteousness on you.”    When I think of this verse I think of hard ground in someones heart, so I pray that God would soften the soil of someones life so when the seeds of righteousness are planted, someone shares with them truth of God’s love, that those seed  will take root in their heart and grow unto salvation.

The most beautiful prayer you can pray is that they really, really, understand John 3:16:  “For God so loved the world ( put their name in there) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever ( the persons name) believes in Him, will not perish but have eternal life.”

And the last verse I’m going to share with you is:  “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”  1 Corinthians 3:6.  Now that is our responsibility.  I’ve seen so many times when Kent and I were sharing with someone and we would realize we were watering seeds that others have planted.  And the opportunity to plant the seeds is wonderful, too.   I’ve been sharing with my grand kids, planting seeds.  It is priceless.

I have prayed that God would bring others to my family that do not know Him, to share with them.  And I have seen it happen.  But, on the other side of the coin, remember when you are sharing with someone, I’ll bet there is someone, a friend or family member, who has been praying for them.  You are now being an answer to someones prayer.

We have been blessed without measure, pass it on.

Grace and peace,
Cathy
